The Puebla Embroidered Dress is a loose and airy dress with a very comfortable fit. This folkloric ethnic dress was embroidered using a foot pedal machine in the community of San Gabriel Chilaca, in the state of Puebla, Mexico. This Cotton dress is very versatile and extra comfortable. It can be worn as a summer dress with sandals, as a casual or winter outfit with leggings or a pair of jeans. This chic dress has ties on the back to adjust for a more fitted or relaxed fit. Each dress is uniquely different, as it is subject to the imagination and momentum of the craftsman. The color combination and motifs that adorn them are always variable.

We like to honor the inspiration and momentum of each one of the artisans that we work with. Respecting the designing process of the artisans is what makes every piece original and unique. That is why there are no two dresses created equally. (Please refer to pictures with multiple dresses).

The practice of embroidery is a very ancient practice dating from the pre-Hispanic era. Through this technique, artisans make an impression of their reality, using elements that surround them as flowers, birds and landscapes. The artisans embroider this dress with pedal machines, just like they've been doing it for centuries.

This is a dress that, due to its versatility and beauty, has been copied and reproduced in many parts of the world, in a massive way. It is important to distinguish between an original dress and a cheap reproduction, because, with the purchase of an original dress like this, you are contributing to the preservation of a millenary culture and supporting a dignified job and fair trade.
